Wema ni kitu kizuri na ni kitu cha kumgusa mtu aliyetendewa wema na mtu ampendaye. Ni mara chache sana unaweza kumtendea mtu wema ambaye anakutendea mabaya. Upo usemi unaotukumbusha kuwa “ushinde ubaya kwa wema”. Ukweli ni kwamba, watu wanaoweza kuushinda ubaya kwa wema ni wachache sana. Wengi wetu hupenda kulipa kisasi.

Katika kijiji fulani, kulikuwa na mama mmoja ambaye alishindwa kabisa kumsomesha binti yake kuanzia shule ya awali kutokana na hali ngumu ya maisha. Kwa bahati nzuri, Msamaria mwema alijitokeza na kumsomesha binti huyo kuanzia chekechea na shule ya msingi, hadi darasa la saba. Si hivyo tu, alimfanyia zaidi ya hayo, kwani alimpa matunzo yote pamoja na kumpa chakula na pia alikuwa anakaa naye nyumbani kwake. Msamaria huyo alimpenda sana mtoto huyu kama binti yake wa kumzaa. Kwa hakika, ulikuwa ni upendo uliokamilika.

Mama mzazi wa mtoto huyo alipoona binti yake amekua na anajitambua vizuri na ni mwenye bidii pia, alianza kumjaza maneno ya uchochezi yasiyofaa. Alidiriki hata kusema kuwa, “unateswa, unafanya usafi wa nyumba, unaosha vyombo, kufua nguo, kupika na mengine mengi. Ni bora uondoke na kurudi nyumbani mara moja”. 

Mtoto alimsikiliza mamake, hivyo alitoroka. Msamaria mwema alimfuatilia binti huyo hadi nyumbani kwa mamake ambako alimkuta. Binti bila aibu, alimwambia msamaria wa watu kuwa hatarudi tena kwake na hivyo, bora ajiondokee tu. 

Msamaria alirudi kwake. Kwa vile binti alikuwa ametoroka, alikuwa ameacha vitu vyake huko kwake. Hivyo Msamaria alimfungashia vitu vyake vyote na kumpelekea had kwao yule binti. Pia alimshukuru kwa kukaa naye vizuri kwa kipindi chote cha karibu miaka kumi.

Tunajifunza nini kutoka simulizi hii? Tunajifunza mengi. Msamaria mwema hakutaka kushukuriwa na mama mzazi wa binti huyo, na wala binti naye hakumshukuru msamaria huyo kwa mema yote aliyomtendea. Hii inatufundisha kuwa, ukimtendea mtu mema, usingojee kushukuriwa. Badala yake tunaona jinsi mama wa binti anavyorudisha ubaya kwa mema yote aliyotendewa binti yake. 

Tunafundishwa kuwa tuwe waelewa. Mtu akikutendea wema, angalau tuseme hata neno moja la ahsante ili kuonyesha shukrani. Pia tunafundishwa kuwa tukiwatendea watu wema tusingojee shukrani, kwani binadamu wengine hawana shukrani kabisa. Tujifunze kuikubali hali hiyo na tabia za binadamu, kwani ndivyo zilivyo.

The Healing Hands empowers people to achieve financial autonomy by building entrepreneurial skills and embedding skills transfer within the community – alleviating poverty as a driver of ill mental health. Funds raised from the jewelry will help sustain free mental health services in underserved communities and promote the economic empowerment of trained grandmothers who implementing #WHO #mhGAP evidence-based psychosocial interventions. The project provides interpersonal counseling, group talk therapy, and psychoeducation resources, referrals, advocacy and awareness raising delivered through arts.
