Wakati tunasoma shule ya msingi ambayo ilikuwa na madarasa manne tu, yaani la kwanza hadi la nne, ilizingatiwa sana kila darasa kuwa na wanafunzi arobaini na tano tu. Kwa darasa letu ilikuwa tofauti kidogo. Mwanafunzi mmoja wa kike alisharudia darasa la kwanza miaka miwili na walimu waliamua wampeleke darasa la pili na katika darasa hili tukawa naye na ikabidi arudie tena mwaka sisi tulipoingia darasa la tatu, yeye akawa bado yuko lile lile la pili na tulipoingia la nne walimu wakaamua awe darasa la tatu.

Shida kubwa ya binti huyu ilikuwa ni uwezo mdogo wa kuandika na kuhesabu, alikuwa hawezi kabisa. Hivyo baada ya walimu kutumia maarifa yao yote na kushindikana wakamsitisha masomo akiwa darasa la tatu. Wazazi wa binti huyu walipenda sana asome. Walijaribu sana kuwezesha hilo lakini haikuwezekana kabisa.

Wazazi wa huyu binti walikuwa ni matajiri sana hapo kijijini, tena baba yake alikuwa na cheo kikubwa na walikuwa watu waliopendwa sana na wanakijiji wote. Binti huyu pia alikua ana adabu nzuri na pia aliwaheshimu wakubwa kwa wadogo.

Basi binti akazidi kukua na kuzidi kuwaheshimu watu na akazidi kuwa mwenye adabu sana na akawa mrembo pia. Kwa hakika, alikuwa akipendwa na kila mtu. Vijana wa hapo kijijini walijitahidi kutaka kumposa lakini walishindwa pamoja na kwamba walikuwa ni matajiri pia. Wazazi nao walijaribu kumshawishi binti yao akubariki kuposwa, lakini walishindwa. Binti yao, bila kumung’unya maneno, alisema kuwa hawapendi kabisa hao vijana.

Baada ya muda alitokea mvulana mmoja ambaye alionekana kuwa chaguo la binti huyo. Kijana huyu alitokea kabila ambalo ni tofauti na kabila la binti huyo. Lakini kwa vile llilikuwa ni chaguo la moyo wake, walifunga pingu za maisha.

Nilipomaliza chuo na kuajiriwa na kufanya kazi kwa miaka sita hivi nilikutana na binti huyo. Kwa hakika, nilimshangaa kwa sababu alikuwa amezidi kuwa mrembo sana na alikuwa na afya njema pia. Kama ilivyo ada, tulisalimiana vizuri na aliniambia kuwa ana watoto saba na kwamba walishajenga nyumba yao ya kudumu na mume wake. Alinieleza kuwa watoto wao wanne wa kwanza walikuwa wanasoma shule za English Medium na wengine watatu walikuwa shule za awali (chekechea).

Kweli niliamini kuwa mtu anaweza kushindwa na hili leo lakini kesho akashinda lingine. Simulizi hii inatuthibitishia ukweli huo. Pamoja na kwamba huyu dada shule ilimshinda, maisha yake yamekuwa ni bora na mazuri sana kuliko hata ya sisi tulioenda vyuoni na kupata shahada na vyeti mbali mbali. Isitoshe, Mungu alimbariki na kumpa mume na watoto wengi na si hayo tu, bali wamepewa uwezo wa kufanya maendeleo makubwa, kujenga nyumba na kusomesha watoto wao kwenye shule nzuri.

Wasomaji wa simulizi hii, mnashauriwa kuwa msikate tamaa. Pale itakapoonekana kuwa mmeshindwa na hili leo, mtashinda na kuweza kupata lingine kesho.

Healing Hands provides interpersonal counseling, group talk therapy, and psychoeducation resources delivered through arts, where clients learn to handcraft traditional beaded jewelry as a marketable skill.
