Wengi huamini kuwa mtu anayewaheshimu wazazi wake, akawatumikia na kuwanyenyekea kama wao walivyomlea kwa tunu na tamasha, atakuwa amewafurahisha, kwa hiyo atapata radhi yao. Watu wengi huamini kuwa, mtoto anapoipata radhi ya wazazi wake, ndipo atakapoipata na ile radhi ya Mwenyezi Mungu. 

Radhi ya wazazi kwa mtoto huwezesha mambo yake katika maisha yake yaende vizuri na pia maisha yake kuwa ya furaha na yenye mafanikio. Lakini pia, watu wengi huamini kuwa mtoto akiwaudhi na kuwatesa wazazi wake, mambo yake yatamwendea kombo ama vibaya na kwamba kila atakalokuwa analifanya, litakuwa halinyooki ama haliendi vizuri. Kwa maneno mengine maisha yake huyo mtoto, yatakuwa ni ya taabu tupu.

Tunakumbushwa pia kuwa, ukiikosa mali leo, kesho waweza kuipata. Lakini ukiikosa radhi mara moja, na wazazi wako wakafa kabla ya kukusamehe, hautaipata tena radhi hiyo. Ndio maana waswahili husema kuwa, radhi ni bora kuliko mali. Kila mtu ajitahidi kutenda mema kwa wazazi wake ili aweze kustahili kupata radhi kutoka kwao, ama sivyo maisha yake yatakuwa ya shida sana.

Usemi huu hutumiwa kwa ajili ya kuwafunza walimwengu wawatii na kuwanyenyekea wazazi wao. Wengine pia husema, wazazi ni Mungu wa pili hivyo wanatakiwa kunyenyekewa na kuheshimiwa na watoto wao.

The Healing Hands Project

The Healing Hands project will economically empower people to achieve financial autonomy by building entrepreneurial skills and embedding skills transfer within the community – eliminating poverty as a driver of ill mental health. Funds raised from the jewelry will help sustain the implementation of accessible psychosocial interventions in underserved communities and promote the economic empowerment of the grandmothers who have been trained in and are implementing WHO’s mental health Gap Action Program. Healing Hands provides interpersonal counseling, group talk therapy, and psychoeducation resources delivered through arts, where clients learn to handcraft traditional beaded jewelry as a marketable skill.
